I guess at some point I'll have to take them to court. It's beyond absurd and I'm powerless to do anything about it. Some of these old gents were on the bench assembling guns as youngsters right around the time that WWI was being fought.

I'd suggest giving them a call and asking how you can ship the gun to them for service.That hasn't been my experience with Colt at all.
